6 morning healthy routine tips to start an amazing day

Rise and shine, little star!

Not everyone is a morning person, and to be honest,neither am I. It can seem almost impossible to wake up calm, refreshed and ready to tackle the day with a smile on your face. It took me ages to find the best way to make my morning productive and enjoyable. So I would like to share with you a few of my wellness rituals that set me up for the day ahead as inspiration for how you can kick ass each day with style and a smile.

  1. Warm lemon water.

This is a well-known fact, but it’s so true. It really does work miracles! After you wake up, grab a glass of warm water with a squeeze of lemon (you can also add sliced ginger root) and drink it slowly. Lemon water boosts your energy, improves your digestion, hydrates your body and makes your skin glow.

  1. Brush your tongue.

Everyone brushes their teeth in the morning, but a lot of people skip brushing their tongues. Scraping your tongue helps to remove built up bacteria and toxins accumulated there overnight, and there is no better way to get rid of bad morning breath.

  1. Easy stretching.

Do a couple morning stretches to help you to feel strong, flexible and grounded. It takes only a few minutes and it’s so refreshing! Good stretching covers all your muscle groups and can be followed up anytime during the day when you feel stuck or tired.

  1. Positive vibes.

It’s a new day, a new start! Sit on the floor and breath deeply. Bring the awareness of how you feel in your body. Think about what are you grateful for and for what you are looking forward to today. Positive vibes, positive life!

  1. Exercise.

Starting your day with your favorite exercise is one of the best ways to fall in love with your mornings. It will energize you, kick start your metabolism and wake up your body and mind. I love to go surfing for an hour or two in the morning before my breakfast. I am usually still tired on my way to the beach, but when the salty water splashes my face I’m alert and ready to ride a wave. Surfing helps me to clear my mind and it’s like a type of meditation for me. Now you know why I love my mornings! So pick the right exercise for you and do it. Go for a walk, go jogging or take a yoga class. You may have to push yourself at the beginning to leave your warm bed earlier but it’s totally worth it, I swear.

  1. Delicious breakfast and cup of coffee or tea.

The right breakfast provides you with energy for a whole morning. I personally prefer a light breakfast such as fresh fruit salad with Greek yogurt and raw unsalted nuts or a smoothie with  a cup of coffee (I love coffee). And If I am hungry I have a mid morning snack later. The combination of protein, carbs and healthy fats gives you the energy you need for your busy morning.Try to avoid overeating in the morning. If you load your body with tons and tons of food you will probably feel tired and ready for another nap!
