Why we love: Avocado

Avocados are incredibly nutritious. They are a great source of vitamins C, E, K and B6, pantothenic acid, folate, copper and potassium.

Yes, avocados have very high fat content, but it’s a naturally good fat for your heart – monounsaturated fatty acids – which our body needs to function well. If you watch your weight you can still consume avocado daily but in a smaller amount (1/4 – 1/8 of avocado per day).a

Avocado is rich in dietary fiber which is known to promote weight loss, improve digestion, lower blood sugar levels, lower levels of bad cholesterol and increase levels of good cholesterol.

Other health benefits of avocado include: disease prevention (osteoporosis and cancer), lowering risk of depression, protection from chronic disease, natural detoxification, boosting the immune system and glowing and beautiful skin.

How amazing is that?

Avocado is a great alternative to trans fats such a margarine or butter. Just spread it on your toast or mix it with ricotta to make a fabulous dip.You can also enjoy avocado simply plain with a little bit of salt (so yummy), or add it into your smoothie or salad. It’s also the perfect ingredient for baking and raw desserts! You can try my chocolate cake, chocolate pudding with coconut or these amazing macarons.
