Basil and lemon hummus

Hummus! It’s a savory creamy dip from chick peas, olive, lemon juice and salt which is just irresistible! I just love it!

It’s a perfect source of protein so it can help fight hunger cravings and balance blood sugar levels.

You can enjoy it with veggie sticks such as carrot, cucumber, celery, capsicum or zucchini as a perfect afternoon snack or with roasted veggies and bake sweet potatoes for your lunch or dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chick peas (400 g tin)
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 1 tbs tahini paste
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • fresh basil leaves (a few of them)
  • 1 teaspoon coriander (optional, it’s my favorite version)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • pinch of salt

Instructions:

Place all the ingredients in the food processor and blend until quite smooth. The leftovers store in a fridge. Enjoy :).
